How Important is the Colon
The
colon, also known as the large intestine, is the last 5-6 feet of
the digestive system followed by the last 5 or 6 inches which is
the rectum. After food is digested, waste moves through the colon,
then through the rectum and out the anus.
The primary function of the colon is to absorb all of the excess
water from the intestinal contents and use it to make the stool
solid so that it may flush it to the rectum and out the anus. This
process cannot properly take place when the colon has not been maintained
What happens when the colon is not maintained? A sticky, slimy mucus
forms on the inner walls which becomes a perfect place for bacteria,
worms, and parasites to grow. These parasites then live off the
nutrients that your body requires and thus causes an unhealthy system.
This also houses pollutants, chemicals, and dead cells. This can
go on for years without any noticeable side-effects.
